The Africa Corporate Governance Conference – scheduled for the 23rd until the 25th of November 2022 at the
Emperors Palace Convention Centre in Johannesburg – aims to help corporate boards figure out the most pressing
corporate priorities and governance challenges in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.
The global pandemic has turned multiple facets of business operations, society and the economy on their head, and
this uncertainty and disruption looks likely continue in the months ahead, unless vaccines are distributed fast
enough to plug the spread. As corporate organizations look for ways to navigate this challenging period, a few
governance themes have emerged that seem likely to persist even as the exigencies of near-term crises subside.
With the year most likely going to see corporate leaders managing COVID-19 related crises, one of the
leadership questions to rise is the rising social inequalities, spawned by job losses as a result of several
business closures.
