Cottonwood Art Festival

The Cottonwood Art Festival began in 1969 as a small event. It has grown to be one of America's most prestigious fine arts festivals. The first festival was held by local artists at the Cottonwood Park in Richardson. The festival was all about tie-dye and bell-bottoms, braids, and blankets were laid out by the artists to sell a few art pieces. Cottonwood, nearly fifty years later, has become a landmark art event and is the home of the best artists in the country every first weekend in May and October.
