IMMIGRATION COMPLIANCE FOR EMPLOYERS AND SPONSORS
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This training is essential for anyone who employs staff, be they CEOs, company directors, HR managers, operations managers, partnerships or sole traders.
WHY ATTEND?
In December 2022, Rishi Sunak announced plans to tackle illegal working. Ramping up UKVI immigration enforcement and undertaking more vigorous Home Office sponsor audit activity is very likely in the months ahead...
Are you ready?
For any employer hiring staff or any employer who wishes to hire skilled workers from overseas, this training is crucial.
If you already have, or you hope to secure a sponsor licence to recruit workers from overseas, this session is a must.
The Prime Minister intends to increase staff resources to "free up immigration officers to go back to enforcement which, will in turn, allow us to increase raids on illegal working by 50%."
It is essential for businesses of all sizes across the UK to perform the Right to Work checks correctly. Failure to conduct these could lead to crippling civil penalties of up to £20,000 for each worker that does not have the right to work in the UK. Right to Work checks are essential for all employers in the country whether or not you intend to hire overseas workers.
The Home Secretary has instructed her compliance officers to step-up their in-person sponsor audit visits. Sponsor licence audits could be conducted at any time, prior to granting a sponsorship licence or at any time when you are a licensed sponsor. The UKVI audits could be unannounced.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN:
By attending, you will gain valuable knowledge to enable you to put in place important HR systems to protect you as the employer/sponsor.
You will gain insights on key sponsor duties and obligations to ensure that you will be able to handle a UKVI sponsor audit and to ensure that you are performing the Right to Work - RTW - checks correctly.
This Oxford based Immigration lawyer will provide practical tips, guidance and some useful takeaway templates for the employer.
