The main feature is that, the material (powder) used in metal 3D-printing has superior mechanical properties than used in traditional/ conventional.
Typical/ generic challenges that/ which Industry 4.0/ ROBOTICS appl. part-suppliers (gripper-fingers/ other), SPM/ M-c part, spare manufacturers, suppliers are facing:

Metal 3D-printing :
• High-powered-density laser selectively melts (SLM) and then fuses or binds together particles on the powder bed while the machine distributes even layers of metallic powder to produce near net-shape parts.
• Innovae3D has in-house EOS(make)-M280 Metal 3D-Printer (built-size 250x250x300mm) to develop fully-functional components in lesser/ shorter lead-time to market; Batch and low-mass/ volume production.
