After studying art at school and teacher training college in the UK with distinction I took 2 City and Guilds courses in embroidery with a distinction in free form machining. I have been teaching this technique for 40 years in schools, art classes, with the Embroiderers Guilds Australia, written best selling books on the subject and taken part in many solo and group exhibitions. I am excited to launch an online video series of lessons this year and love to enthuse others in this most creative of subjects.

Meeting Objective

I wish to promote my online video series of lessons in free form machining and enthuse young mothers and those who perhaps don’t have the opportunity for learning a new skill in the normal way to work in their own time learning to have fun but also to grow confidence. I will demonstrate the techniques with time -saving hints and the ability to reuse and upcycle fabrics & garments in different and exciting ways, also saving expense and the environment. If I can enthuse people to love this technique as much as I do and constantly enjoy experimenting I will have achieved my objective.
