Wagin Woolorama

In 1972, Wagin Woolorama was created. Malcolm Edward, Wagin Agricultural Society, realized that Wagin required its own feature after he visited Dowerin Field Days in 1972. At the time, Dowerin was just machinery being demonstrated in a paddock.

Wagin's Merino wool and Wool industries were its greatest strengths. Two boys were selected to win the school competition and came up with the name Woolorama. Peter Jenkin (9 years old) and Mark English (10 years old) suggested Woolorama. They won $5.00 each for their efforts in transforming The Wagin Agricultural Show into Wagin Woolorama.
