YOUNG at art!
Art is in the young and there is no better day to celebrate them than THEIR DAY. On the eve of Children's Day, Mumbai based Art curators Payal Shah & Bindal Shah of Artezvous bring to you their annual kids art exhibition - YOUNG AT ART! With 22 children from across Mumbai, Singapore & New York, this exhibition displays work of a child as young as 7 years and as old as 18 years, at Cymroza Art Gallery, on Sunday, 13th November, 2022.
Talking about this exhibition, Payal Shah & Bindal Shah of Artezvous share, "After a hiatus of 3 years, we are excited to bring back one of our most enthusiastic shows, the annual kids exhibition. While we curate exhibitions for adults throughout the year, we believe in providing an opportunity & thereby encouraging the younger lot to showcase their work. Every year we have a theme for the children too. However, this year we have asked them to let their creativity flow and choose a theme themselves. You will be amazed at what they have come up with."
7 year old Sanaaya Mehta from New York has chosen a theme of darker colored string art with animals. She believes that animals are not within one type of habitat & are different in many ways. The string art is the background and the animals are in the front and center of the canvas.
13 year old Jiya Mehta's work is inspired from the Japanese art style called “Enso Art”. She shares, "The term Enso means circle in Japanese. It is hand drawn in one or two brushstrokes & is also used in Zen Buddhism to express a moment in which the mind is free to let the body create. The contrasting colour scheme of black and gold in my artworks is used because I felt that around dark there is always something standing out."
10 year old Ronak Mahule describes his collection as a Combination of two faces. He adds, "I like to do portraits and have selected the theme of two faces to showcase different creations of God.I want to show how different personalities created by the almighty, if put together, can look so good, in one frame."
11 year old Vansh Bhansali will be displaying a series of Llama paintings. He explains that "Llamas are a kind of mountain sheep. I have given each Llama a character so that makes each Llama different as per different people's preferences."
13 year old Aadiv Mehta's work is inspired from Doodle Art.
Drop by at this art exhibition and extend your support to these young Picasso's! They are our future and all they need is our encouragement.
