Youth Tobacco Prevention Workshop
Welcome to our Youth Tobacco Prevention Workshop, a dynamic and interactive event designed to empower young people with the knowledge and skills to make informed choices about tobacco use and advocate for tobacco control initiatives in their communities. Hosted by the New Hampshire Tobacco Prevention & Control Program (TPCP), this workshop brings together schools, youth organizations, peer educators, and community members to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco use and promote a tobacco-free lifestyle among youth.
Our workshop aims to engage young people in meaningful discussions, interactive activities, and skill-building exercises focused on tobacco prevention strategies. Through collaborative efforts with schools and youth organizations, we provide a platform for youth to learn about the harmful effects of tobacco use, understand the tactics used by the tobacco industry to target youth, and explore evidence-based approaches to prevent tobacco initiation and promote cessation.
Interactive sessions led by peer educators and health professionals offer participants the opportunity to explore topics such as the health risks of smoking, the impact of secondhand smoke, and the addictive nature of nicotine. Through engaging activities, participants learn how to recognize and resist social pressures to smoke, develop refusal skills, and build resilience against tobacco use.
One of the highlights of our workshop is the sharing of success stories and testimonials from individuals who have successfully quit smoking with the help of resources like the NH Tobacco Helpline. These inspiring stories serve as powerful reminders of the impact of tobacco addiction and the importance of seeking support to quit smoking. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions, seek guidance, and access information about tobacco cessation resources available in New Hampshire.
In addition to raising awareness about the dangers of tobacco use, our workshop aims to empower youth to become advocates for tobacco control initiatives in their communities. Through interactive discussions and group activities, participants learn about the role they can play in advocating for smoke-free policies, supporting tobacco prevention programs, and promoting healthy lifestyles among their peers.
By empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and resources to make healthy choices and advocate for tobacco control, our Youth Tobacco Prevention Workshop is paving the way for a tobacco-free future in New Hampshire. Join us in this important effort to protect the health and well-being of our youth and create a healthier, tobacco-free community for generations to come.
